While the last couple of weeks saw Priya Prakash Varrier become the national crush with just one wink, it was the turn of MS Dhoni to flood social media by putting on his rare ‘angry avatar’ for them in the second T20I against South Africa in Centurion, all thanks to Manish Pandey. While some claim that Dhoni abused Pandey for not paying attention towards the end of the first innings, some claim that the former Indian skipper only scolded the right-hander and no cuss word was used. Though there isn’t absolute clarity over what exactly Dhoni said, what fans were thrilled to see is Mahi losing his cool with his partner.
The incident took place during the final over of the Indian innings, where Dhoni asked Pandey to focus on the game and spend less time looking around the stadium. Seeing Dhoni all furious with his partner at the non-striker’s end, left fans flabbergasted as they had never heard the Ranchi-born batsman doing a Kohli (using abusive language). What brought even more delight amongst fans was that on the very next delivery, Dhoni smashed the bowler for a trademark power-six over covers.
Often described as Captain Cool, the whole scenario was very unlike Dhoni and hence the cricketing universe couldn’t believe if Dhoni had in fact scolded Pandey, with some even claimed that the latter said after the match that he will tell his grandchildren that I was the only cricketer who got scolded by Dhoni.

While Malayalam actress Priya Prakash’s wink flooded the Internet with memes, Dhoni too became the cynosure of social media talks among cricket fans as fans fail to erode the visual of him shouting at Pandey from their heads.
At one stage, it seemed as if the hosts have put on an on-par score on board (188/4) but Heinrich Klaasen and JP Duminy had other ideas. The Proteas pair extinguished any hopes of an Indian comeback and gave Indian bowlers a massive battering, especially to Yuzvendra Chahal, who made the record books for all the unwanted reasons because of that particular match.
The three-match T20I series is now tied at 1-1 with the final match to be played on Saturday, February 24
