Seems like Sidharth Malhotra starrer Aiyaary is struggling for a release date. The film which was supposed to release on February 9 along with Pad Man will now be pushed further, well some reports say so.
A leading daily quoted, “There’s a strong chance that Aiyaary will be postponed to February 16. The team will submit the film to the CBFC only after making the recommended changes. The overseas delivery of the film looks difficult, considering we won’t have the censor certificate in time. That will, in turn, affect the India release.”
The film was recently screened for the Defence Ministry before getting a censor certificate as it touched upon corruption in the Indian Army.
Some reports suggest that the body has asked for five cuts, and the last-minute changes have sent the makers back to the editing table.
This is not the first time the makers are pushing further the release date. The initial release of the film was on January 25 but to avoid a clash with Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man, they pushed the date to February 9.
Later Pad Man was postponed February 9 to make way for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat as it was stalled for months.
Some said that Aiyaary star cast is upset with Akshay Kumar but they rubbished all the rumors.
So now if they are unable to meet the deadline, Aiyaary will enjoy a solo release. It also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Pooja Chopra.
